Spring Challenge

I know it has been a bit since I have posted! Have you been to OhScrap.com ? Such cute stamps and free shipping in the US!! Well she decided she would start doing challenges on her blog!! You can get there Here . This challenge was Spring. So I have been looking for an excuse to learn quilling, and thought Perfect!! So here is my first attempt at quilling, excuse the blurry close up but I am not the best with a camera :P

Finally the directions for the zipper flower!

Okay that took me forever and a day, but I now can post the directions, hope this helps you make some unique zipper flowers!

Zipper flowers
you will need:
long zipper or zipper on a roll about 20”
you can use smaller your flower will just be smaller
small piece of felt
hand sewing needle
thread
and pliers if it gets tough to pull through

Cut a circle out of the felt about 1 to 1 ½ inches
Cut the end off your zipper and remove the zipper pull
you will only use one side of the zipper for one flower

Now to begin:
Place your zipper half so that one end is in the center of the felt circle, and the teeth are facing to the left.

Taking your long end loop it over to the center.
You will have a loop like in the picture it is like the awareness ribbon  loop (keep teeth of zipper up).

Make a stitch to hold in place.

Continue making loops with a stitch in center for each loop until you have a flower or run out of zipper.

Make a knot with your thread on back and cut off thread.

Some zippers you will come out even and will not be able to roll for the center. These you could embellish the centers with gemstones, buttons, etc.
If you do have a tail left you can roll it up into the center. Run your threaded needle through the roll to hold together and then just up and down stitch in place in middle of flower.

I have also just rolled a separate zipper and secured it with a few stitches and the hot glued it to the center.
You then trim down the felt circle in the back and attach a pin back or clip to the finished flower.

Getting Closer

I have gotten the pictures ready to show how to make the zipper flowers. I don't do video, but they really are simple to make, so you should be able to follow along. So hopefully soon I will have this up for you all to enjoy!
I also have been making felt food, for kids to play with. Has anyone done this? it is sooooooo addicting! but very fun at the same time!!

I kept thinking what I wanted to post up for this hop! I decided to go for some of the projects I have been diligently working on for tis the season for lots of craft shows. It always seems there are so many for this time of year. I do sell a lot of my cards at the shows and many other various items. The few below are the ones I am getting ready to put out on Saturdays show! What wonderful gifts these will make!

This is a zipper flower, for the show I make them for hair clips, and also pins you can wear! wouldn't this be cute put on a card and handed to someone for a special day for them?

I thought I would try my hand and some ribbon sculpting for this next show. Again these are for hair clips, but as I was working on them I think the flatter ones would be really cute on a card! So here is a christmas tree ribbon sculpture but put on a card!
Paper is Petite Papers by Websters pages
Stamp is Hampton Art and embossed with Tinselette embossing powder

Well that is all for now Keep on Hopping onto the next blog,Rochelle Spears and enjoy the season everyone! Thank you for stopping!

Here is another card to share with you, this one was made with a $1.00 card set from Target.

I just added some simple embellishments and voila! I think it came out kinda cute!

Online Crop

If you have never done an online crop, you should really give it a try! It is nice because you can craft in your own place but still have others crafting with you! Isn't technology wonderful!!!
Here are some of the cards I have completed during the crop!!
This one has a free digi from Digital Two for Tuesdays!!

This one is embossed with red glitter and the paper is from
Webster's pages-Petite pages. I really like how the paper did all the work in making this a beautiful card!

I know it is not Christmas lol but I needed to get this one done she makes an adorable kitty!!!
